The Snoqualmie-Gangjin Program is part of the Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association which is part of the Sister Cities International
Organization.

Our mission is to establish educational, cultural and economic relationships between the City of Snoqualmie, Washington, USA and the City of Gangjin, Republic of Korea in order to foster understanding, peace and prosperity between our two cities and in the world as part of a larger global effort.

The Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association (SSCA) was founded on October 23, 2008 in response to a request by Mayor JuHong Hwang of Gangjin to establish a student exchange program between our two cities.

In January, 2009, 12 Korean students from Gangjin arrived in Snoqualmie and spent five weeks at Mount Si High School and with their American host families. It was a very successful experience.

In April 2009, Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson joined five of the host family parents in a visit to Gangjin. Gangjin Mayor Hwang, staff, and citizens proved themselves to be exceptionally gracious and generous hosts. We have had several exchanges with students, parents, and government officials since then.
